Earth and Water

Size: 46” w x 29” h (2004 - 2006)

The design for this piece was inspired by a piece of jewelry. The striations in the beige fabric represent sand along a shoreline, with the blue curves representing pools of water lapping at the edges.

Heavily machine quilted with a wide variety of shapes in waves, pebbles and curls. Tiny blue beads have been hand-sewn to the navy sections to give the shimmering effect of water.
