Fancy Dancer

This started out as a unique piece of hand-dyed fabric. I usually know where I'm going when I create something, but this time I just let the choices and decisions follow each other.  As the artwork took shape from the quilting, I could see an abstract image of a dancer appear, responding to the rhythm of music. Decorative yarns have been couched onto the surface, with bead embellishments, hand painted detail and free-motion machine quilting.
