Fancy Dancer

This started out as a unique piece of hand-dyed fabric. I usually know where I'm going when I create something, but this time I just let the choices and decisions follow each other.  As the quilting shapes began to form, I could see a dancer appear, as if the bubbles of music moved around her legs to encourage a dance.
Decorative yarns have been couched onto the surface, with bead embellishments, hand painted detail and free-motion machine quilting.
