The doll club had a December challenge to use feathers in a creation. I wanted an elegant figure with a cape trimmed in feathers. I cut into the sheers and organza fabrics on her skirt at angles to "feather" the fabrics, and glued individual feathers around the cape's satin collar. Her name is Calandra, which means songbird. She's on her way to the opera, holding a feathered fan and wearing high heeled shoes, also adorned with feathers. Face has been painted, but not needle-sculpted.
