Callandra

Callandra means "Song Bird", and she is dressed for a night at the opera. Her bodice is decorated with feathers, she holds a feathered fan, and her evening shoes are embellished with even more feathers. Her skirt is layer upon layer of feather-cut fabrics, and if you look closely, you’ll see a flash of her thigh high textured stockings. Stretch velvet partial gloves adorn her arms, and her cape is black velvet with a wide satin collar trimmed in feathers that have been individually glued into place.

Callandra is 21” tall, 10” wide and 10” deep.

Materials: Organza, metallic sheers, earth toned sheers, stretch velvet, satin, hand-dyed wool rovings, textile pencils and paints, silk ribbons, wire leg armatures and a wood base, poly-fil, nail polish, assorted colourful feathers, cotton body fabric, glass beads.
