Art Doll Gallery 2 (2008)

2008 brought a need to refine my doll designs with more accurate body proportions, facial overlays and more experience with new fabrics.

My first online class was with Doll Street Dreamers. Natalie Hammade taught us about face overlays that hide seams and face sculpting stitches, and steps to painting and drawing facial features. (See the Marottes below) You can visit Doll Street by clicking here.

My next online classes included making fairy wings out of all sorts of materials, but I wouldn't really get into these lessons until the following year. Joggles offers several classes and you can visit their website by clicking here.

Later in the year, Charie Wilson came to our Doll Club and taught a class on the ball jointed doll. This included more face sculpting techniques and several time-saving tips. (See Frederick below)

"The Pixie Chicks" were a new adventure in larger dolls, each measuring about 48" tall if they were standing. This size doll allows me to use larger scale print fabrics and trims that are too "heavy" for my regular size dolls. I'll probably do a few this size each year for a while just for the fun of it!
