This is the third in a series of this image. The first sold, the second was a commission, and yet I still felt drawn to this image. In this third one I have selected rich earth tones. The swirls signify the swirl of emotions that accompany the birth of a child and the desire to nurture.

A fourth in this series was later created for "The Quilt; A Breast Cancer Support Project", commissioned for auction to benefit a support network and facility in Toronto for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Free-motion machine quilted with a wide variety of threads, machine appliqué.
