Colourwash Maple Leaf #1

I really got onto a Maple Leaf track one year. What got me started was my nephew, Jordan, asking for a Canadian Flag bed quilt for his 19th birthday. 

I searched the Internet and every source I could find for a pattern that looked like the one on the Canadian Flag. What I found was close, but still not what I wanted. So I designed my own  pattern.  But I still wanted to try the design in Colourwash squares.

 I wanted this design to be large enough to allow for a slow graduation of shades. I was so pleased with the effect, I had to do it again! (See Colourwash Maple Leaf #2)
