River Rock

A trip to Nova Scotia turned my focus to rock formations. I took several pictures, and selected a photo of smooth textured stones for this piece. Commercial batiks were used, but most of the stones were further hand painted for additional shadow  and water effects. Free -motion machine quilted with cotton threads. This piece can be hung in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.
