Lobster Traps

Size: 58"w x 42" h (2005)

These lobster traps provide an interesting contrast of light and dark, with the linear shapes of sea-worn wood. Decorative yarns have been couched onto the surface for the netting of the cages and ropes. The pebbles were created by machine quilting rock shapes onto a mottled fabric, and then hand painted for more shadows around the stones. Brick shapes have been quilted into the background.
